The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Castello di Semivicoli is a particular cru of the Masciarelli company that vinifies this grape on its own. The grapes are from the vineyard located in the town district of Casacanditella at 300 m asl facing north, north-east. The soil composition and the microclimate make this area suitable for a perfect ripeness of the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo grapes, which are hand-harvested between the end of September and beginning of October. Grapes are then brought to the winery and de-stemmed in order to allow the cold maceration to take place. During this process skins are in contact with the must at low temperatures and in an oxygen-free environment in order to allow the aromas to be transferred from the skins to the must. The musts ferment in steel tanks and refine for a few months on fine lees before being bottled. The Trebbiano d'Abruzzo Castello di Semivicoli is not released before 2 years of bottle ageing, that makes this wine even more elegant.
