Jermann Vintage Tunina

Vintage Tunina Jermann is one of the most famous white wines of the Italian wine scene. It is made with Chardonnay, Sauvignon and other local grapes varieties such as Ribolla Gialla, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit. Tunina was the name of the owner of the land where the vineyard stands today and where this wine comes from. This name is also a tribute to the poor lover of Casanova, an housekeeper from Venice, named Tunina. The grapes are harvested about two weeks late compared to the classic harvest time and they are then brought to the winery for the pressing. The musts ferment in steel tanks and oak barrels for a period of time that can change from year to year depending from the year conditions. Fermentation lasts for about 15 days and the wine stays in contact with fine lees for few months after the fermentation. The malolactic fermentation is not carried out to preserve the freshness.
