Pumpkins are picked and left to ripen fully. After being cut and selected, the production of the jam can start. Cà Vecchia uses only Mantua pumpkins grown in the Mantua area. The percentage of pumpkin in the jam is very high, around 140g for 100g of the final product. The jam is seasoned with ginger which has high beneficial properties for the digestive tract and to aid digestion.

How it's made The production process of the extra pumpkin and ginger jam by Cà Vecchia starts from the planting and picking of the pumpkins from Mantua. Once selected, washed and cut, pumpkins are cooked in the workshop of the company. Once cooked, sugar and ginger are added, which gives the jam its typical taste and spiciness. These are the only ingredients used for this Cà Vecchia jam. The word extra indicates the high percentage of the main ingredient in the jam, in this case Mantua pumpkin, which is usually 140g for 100g of final product and 30g of sugar.
