TASTING NOTES: Amarone Bertani shows a deep garnet red colour, on the nose cherry, marasca cherry and plum notes are unmistakable with a liquorice nuance. On the mouth it is full-bodied with a great structure, even if its tannins are velvety and pleasant.

Amarone Bertani is a milestone of the Italian and world wine scene. Its comes from the vinification of the soft-pressed and naturally dried grapes of the Corvina and Rondinella varieties. Once the level of sugar content is reached, grapes are de-stemmed and put in temperature controlled steel tanks. It is then warmed until it reaches a temperature of 18° - 20°C and selected yeasts are added. The alcoholic fermentation lasts for about 15-20 days while musts are pumped several times over the grape dregs, allowing the aromas and polyphenols to be transferred from the skin to the must. At the end of the fermentation, Amarone Bertani is separated from the skins and put in 60-hl Slavonia oak barrels for 72 months before being bottled and then a 12-month bottle ageing also takes place.
