Franciacorta Berlucchi Cuvee 61 Brut is the wine that symbolizes the first bottle of Franciacorta produced in 1961 which was uncorked the year after. Berlucchi was the first winety to produce the classic method sparkling wines in Franciacorta and with this line Cuvee 61 celebrates this primacy. The grapes come from the best vineyards of Franciacorta and are harvested around the middle of August and taken to the cellar for gentle pressing. The musts are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks where they stay for six months before blending and bottling, which takes place after the addition of sugar and yeast for re-fermentation. This process takes about 20 days in the historic cellars of Berlucchi to a 15 ° C natural temperature constant throughout the year, also perfect for storage. After 24 months of rest in the bottle Franciacorta Berlucchi Cuvee 61 is disgorged and after further 2 months is released on the market.
