Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Caparzo is one of Tuscany's most prestigious wines, produced in the Montalcino area of the same name, located in the southern part of the region. This area is characterized by a temperate climate, with cold winters and hot, dry summers, and clay and limestone soils that are ideal for growing vines. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Caparzo is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes, an indigenous grape variety of Tuscany, also known as Brunello in this specific area. Caparzo's vineyards extend for about 90 hectares, located at different altitudes and with different exposures, thus allowing to obtain grapes with different and complex characteristics. The production process of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Caparzo begins with the harvest, which usually takes place in late September or early October. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected, and then destemmed and crushed. This is followed by fermentation, which takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for about 15-20 days. After fermentation, the wine is transferred to Slavonian oak barrels, where it is aged for a period of at least two years. Subsequently, the wine is aged in bottles for at least four months before release. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Caparzo is a wine that can be aged for many years, improving with time.
