Vie di Romans Chardonnay colour is an intense golden yellow, on the nose its powerful aromas are pronounced which range from notes of ripened pineapple to citrus skins and white peach. Chardonnay Vie di Romans Friuli Isonzo DOC

Elegance is the signature of the Vie di Romans Chardonnay, even with its good structure. Grapes are harvested and destemmed by hand, grapes and musts are left in a cold, oxygen-free environment, exactly at 8°C, for a variable amount of time depending from the vintage and from the level of ripening of the grapes. This process allows the aromatic characteristics to be transfered from the grape skins to the juice. Afterwards the grapes are pressed and the must is clarified through the settling of sediments. The clarified part is inoculated with selected yeasts and the alcoholic fermentation is carried out at a temperature between 16 and 19°C. Ageing takes place in steel tanks for 7 months, during which the wine in contact with fine lees develops and gains all its aromatic characteristics, before being bottled and being aged for 9 months in the bottle. An audacious decision was taken by Granfranco Gallo not to put his white wines in the market until 2 years after the harvest, in order to sell his wines with a harmonious balance.
Storage: To be stored at 16-18°C (60° - 64° F)
Pairing: Vie di Romans Chardonnay goes well with seafood and white meat starters, rich and spiced pasta dishes with seafood and certainly excellent with cured and blue cheeses.
