Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina has a brilliant straw yellow color, with golden reflections that enhance its luminosity. Its effervescence is fine and persistent, with a perlage of tiny bubbles that slowly rise to the surface, creating a fascinating play of light in the glass. On the nose, Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina opens with a complex and refined bouquet. Notes of white-fleshed fruit, such as apple and pear, are immediately perceived, followed by hints of citrus, particularly lemon and grapefruit. Next, floral notes of acacia and wisteria emerge, mingling with nuances of bread crust and yeast, the result of the long stay on yeast. In the background, light notes of dried fruit and almond are perceived, further enriching the olfactory profile of this wine. On the palate, Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina is fresh and lively, thanks to good acidity that perfectly balances the wine's structure. The flavors faithfully mirror the olfactory sensations, with notes of white fruit and citrus blending with nuances of toast and yeast. The bubbles are fine and creamy, contributing to a pleasantly enveloping sip. The finish is long and persistent, with an aftertaste that recalls the fruit and yeast notes, leaving the palate clean and ready for the next sip.

Franciacorta Docg Brut Montina

Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina price and deals online

The Franciacorta DOCG Brut La Montina is a high-quality Franciacorta wine from the region of Franciacorta, located in the western part of Lombardy, Italy. This region is renowned for producing some of Italy's best sparkling wines, thanks to its temperate climate and mineral-rich hilly soils. Franciacorta DOCG Brut La Montina is made primarily from Chardonnay grapes, with a small percentage of Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. These grapes are grown in vineyards located on rolling hills that benefit from excellent sun exposure and clay and limestone soil, ideal for the production of high quality wines. The production process of Franciacorta DOCG Brut La Montina follows the Franciacorta method, which involves a second fermentation in the bottle. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and the resulting must is fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Next, the wine is bottled with the addition of selected yeasts, which cause the second fermentation and the formation of bubbles. Franciacorta DOCG Brut La Montina is aged on the lees for a period of at least 18 months, during which the wine acquires complexity and structure. After this period, the bottles undergo remuage, a process that allows the yeasts to settle on the neck of the bottle. Finally, disgorgement, or removal of the yeasts, is performed, and the wine is permanently corked. Franciacorta DOCG Brut La Montina is characterized by its bright straw yellow color, its fine and persistent perlage and its aromas of white flowers, fresh fruit and yeasts. On the palate it is fresh, elegant and well balanced, with a pleasant mineral note. This sparkling wine pairs perfectly with fish, shellfish and shellfish dishes, but can also be enjoyed as an aperitif or with fresh cheeses and delicate cured meats.

Combinations

Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina is a sparkling wine of great elegance and versatility, which lends itself to numerous food pairings. Let's start with appetizers: this wine pairs perfectly with fish carpaccio, such as sea bass or salmon, but also with tuna or shrimp tartare. It can be an excellent companion for seafood appetizers, such as octopus salad or mussels marinara. As for pasta dishes, Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina pairs beautifully with risottos, particularly those made with fish or vegetables. A seafood risotto or an asparagus risotto can be excellent choices. Moving on to main courses, this wine is ideal with baked or grilled fish dishes, such as sea bream, sea bass or sea bream. But it also does not disdain white meats, such as chicken or turkey, perhaps accompanied by a side of grilled vegetables. Finally, as for cheeses, Franciacorta DOCG Brut Montina pairs well with fresh or semi-matured cheeses, such as mozzarella, ricotta or robiola. Always remember that food-wine pairing is very subjective and also depends on personal taste. So, do not hesitate to experiment and find the pairing that suits you best.
