Pio Cesare is one of the most renowned wineries from Alba, with over 100 years of history is also one of the oldest of the territory. It was founded in 1881 by Cesare Pio who gave the company its name strongly believed in the great potential of Barbaresco and Barolo grapes and was one of the first to make them known. Today the company owns 50 hectares of vineyards in the best crus of Barolo and Barbaresco, and has heavily invested on technology and renovations with regard to the wineries. The production is still rather limited in relation to the demand as they want to maintain an excellent standard of quality.
