Pinot Nero Ludwig Elena Walch comes from a vineyard in the mountain town of South Tyrol, located at an altitude of 550-600 m asl, southeast facing on a limestone-sandy soil is probably one of the most suited environments in Italy for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. After a careful tasting of the grapes the right degree of phenolic maturation is establoshed, the Pinot Noir is manually harvested and brought to the cellar for pressing, fermentation with maceration takes place in steel tanks and partly in wooden tanks. After about 10 days of maceration the Pinot Noir Ludwig Elena Walch is separated from the skins and aged in French oak barriques where malolactic fermentation takes place and lasts for 16 months before blending and bottling.
