Sedara Donnafugata Sicilia Doc

Sedara Donnafugata is a fragrant and pleasant wine made mostly with Nero d'Avola grapes. Sedara name comes from Angelica Sedàra, the fascinating character of famous italian novel Il Gattopardo". The vineyards are located around the Contessa Entellina estate at an altitude ranging from 200 to 600 meters above sea level. The vineyards are characterized by loamy-sandy soils rich in nutrients for the plants. The harvest is performed during the coolest hours of the day, the grapes are brought to the winery for crushing and fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, it lasts for about 8-10 days at a temperature ranging between 25-28 ° C. After fermentation the wine is separated from the skins and transferred into cement tanks where it undergoes malolactic fermentation and ages for about 9 months before blending and bottling."
