Les Cretes Chardonnay is an excellent example of interpretation and personalization of an international grape variety like the Chardonnay. Here in the mountainous vineyards of Val D'Aosta, this grape reveals a unique and incomparable style. Grapes are harvested around the middle of September; they are pressed in the winery and the musts are fermented in steel tanks and refined with weekly batonnage for 6 months. After the refinement, the wine is bottled in about 30.000 bottles.

Terroir Lo Chardonnay in questione proviene da 3 5 Ha di vigneto nei comuni di Frissonniere e Saint Christophe e Aymavilles si trovano ad una altitudine compresa fra 550 e 750 m slm. Questo unito alle caratteristiche moreniche del suolo e alla esposizione nord-est delle vigne rendono questi suoli particolarmente vocati alla coltivazione sia di vitigni autoctoni che potenzialmente in grado di dare personalità e unicità anche a vitigni internazionali. I vigneti sono coltivati a spalliera con una densità di impianto di circca 7000 piante per ettaro e la produzione media si attesta a 80000 kg di uva/Ha. Il fatto che durante l'ultimo periodo prima della vendemmia ad una tale altitudine si verifichino molto spesso delle escursioni termiche anche importanti tra il giorno e la notte fa si che le uve si arricchiscano molto di composti aromatici che rendono i vini veramente unici.
