Berlucchi is probably the most famous winery in Franciacorta, its founder Guido Berlucchi, thanks to the volcanic oenologist Franco Ziliani, was the firt producer of Franciacorta sparkling wine, Franco Ziliani proposed to Guido Berlucchi to "produce a sparkling wine in the style of the French"  so re-fermentation in the bottle or classic method. In 1962, after not succesfull first attempts 3000 bottles of wine Pinot di Franciacorta were released on the market and immediately arouses curiosity and admiration. In subsequent years the Berlucchi winery grows exponentially increasing production: the Franciacorta Pinot become Berlucchi Cuvée Imperiale and were produced also Franciacorta Millesimato called Cellarius. Berlucchi winery is now led by Franco Ziliani who is still the president and his children Cristina, Arturo and Paolo dealing with communications departments, production and trade. Today Berlucchi winery cultivate around 600 hectares of vineyard from wich they produce about 4 million bottles per year, Berlucchi is the largest producer in Franciacorta.
